“Do You Believe in Time Travel?” Inspiration in Art
March 20, 2008 on 8:15 pm | In Science Fiction Art | No CommentsOne of my favorite passions is theoretical physics and I love to explore its concepts in my art.
It all began with a topic in Dr. Michio Kaku’s science forum, known as HYPERSPACE. Do You Believe in Time Travel? My mind was already upon the subject of time, due to two articles at SciScoop.com titled; What is Time? and Side-stepping the Quantum Barrier to Time Travel
Then further inspiration came in the form of a post in the Hyperspace topic regarding the theory by Dr. Ronald. L. Mallett, being referred to as the Time Machine. It involves using a circulating cylinder of light to in essence create gravitational fields. The outer fields, containing closed time-like lines, seem to indicate the possibility of traveling through time into the past. I soon found myself artistically exploring the concept of such an experiment.
I began with a circulating cylinder of light and imagined the effect the generated gravitational fields might create. Inspiring the artwork - Time Machine.
My instinct, gut feeling, tells me that if mankind ever achieves the ability to travel back in time, we are in big trouble! We have enough problems just dealing with the present. To me it would be wiser to go stand in the middle of an open field, holding up a 20-foot steel pipe, during a massive thunderstorm. Inspiring the artwork - Meddling with Space-Time.
As the days went by my mind and the forum discussions pondered many concepts, a few outside of the subject and I began to wonder what other influences might effect such an experiment as the circulating light. Taking into perspective, the theories involving parallel universes, other dimensions, as well as the theory of Dr. Lisa Randall’s gravity brane. I imagined the experiment weakening the fabric of space-time, the very wall to the gravity brane and its gravitational energy feeding the time experiment. I envisioned a wormhole forming, rapidly becoming overloaded, it begins to grow into a wormhole storm. The storm grows, twisting and warping space-time and begins to alter reality. Inspiring the artwork - Time Experiment - Gravitational Light. Click here to see this work through several steps of its creation.
And having learned the hard way many times in life, that often things can and will at times, go wrong… that perhaps due to a simple miscalculation, naught would remain save a lovely spacial rift and the moon - Time Experiment - Slight Miscalculation.
Now none of this is to say I am predicting anything, my mind simply explores many possibilities, the good and the bad, the wonders and possible horrors.
To give you an idea of how my mind works, here is a simple example: Most people think of there being two sides to every coin (borrowing from the old saying)… Me, I think of a coin as having a minimum of 362 sides, heads & tails, plus one side for each degree in the circumference of the outside edge. Then my mind also takes into consideration all the sides involved when taking into account all the text and images stamped in the heads & tails! This is one of the things my art is, explorations of concepts running through my brain.
Currently only smaller & medium size open edition fine art prints are available.
Thirty Five Thousand Years in the Making
February 27, 2008 on 1:43 am | In Loose Strings, Science Fiction Art, Space Art | No CommentsNear Verona, Italy inside the Fumane Cave in the Lessini Hills, Researchers not long ago discovered images painted on the wall that dated back some 35,000 years. “They are probably the oldest cave paintings, although we cannot affirm that with scientific certainty,” said Professor Alberto Broglio, who teaches paleontology at the University of Ferrara. - (source- Oldest Cave Painting)
Art has truly been around for a long time and there have certainly been a great many innovations, experimentations, explorations, abstractions and more than a few masterpieces that have stolen the hearts of others for thousands of years. It is what an artist seeks to do, we seek to express to others our passions, the explorations of our own mind and soul, in such a way as to captivate others and inspire them to understand.
It is ever-evolving, expanding as new mixes with old, that which is treasured, that which is sold. Generation by generation, fabulous wonders are revealed, each bearing a bit of the soul of its creator. It matters not in truth, the tool by which it was created; for it is the path of enlightenment that things will change. Each true artist who masters that which is within him will find a way by which to create and there will always be new tools.
This is the way of the Universe and that is one of my passions.

Spacial Rifts
February 26, 2008 on 12:00 am | In Science Fiction Art | No CommentsThe concept of a spacial rift (spatial rift others call it), essentially a tear in the fabric of space & time, has always fascinated me. It does however seem to be that one subject that I cannot find any real scientific theories on. I have searched and searched, only to come up empty. Now run a search on Spacial Rift, if you went by who shows up highest in the listings and the most times, you would think I was the leading expert on the subject. Nonetheless, alas physics is only a hobby for me that I find makes for great inspiration in many of the artistic illusions I so love to weave.
I believe Imagination is the first step on the path of enlightenment. For if one cannot imagine it, would he or she even be able to be curious about it? Without curiosity, would a person seek to understand? These are the things that drive me to explore such a concept, to seek to understand what apparently seems to only be in the imagination stage. So perhaps I am one of the pioneers, for not only does art imitate life, but life also imitates art. Don’t believe me? Let us take Star Trek for example: I’m a Trekkie, lots of people I know are, they have massive conventions FULL of people who are. And I even by accident came across a site a few days ago by Tony Alleyne, an interior decorator that will create you a wonderful Star Trek style interior. 24th Century Interior Design if you’d like to check it out.
I have read many times at various blogs & such, people claiming that digital art has no soul. I’d challenge that the soul of an artwork is dependent upon the artist, for art is an expression of the artist’ soul, not the tool chosen to bring it to life. If it were not so, how could a man with multiple disabilities (mental & physical) earn higher ratings on any subject involved in a show like Stargate SG-1 on search engines like Google? I earned it with hard work, creativity and imagination, seeking to understand & express a subject that fascinates me. I only use a computer to create because an accident many years ago has left me in so much pain I cannot paint and it has taken me many years to learn a completely different art form so that I could create beautiful art once again.
I would be proud if one found a home on your wall.

DID THE MAYAN’S PREDICT WORMHOLES? (SciFi)
August 21, 2007 on 12:37 pm | In Science Fiction Art | No Comments“The Mayan calendar comes to an end on Sunday, December 23, 2012. Only a few people will survive the catastrophe that ensues.”
NO! I don’t believe in such predictions… LOL Yet in the world of imagination & art, concepts like the Mayan’s prediction and “Wormhole weapons” (SciFi Channel’s FARSCAPE) , combined with a little reality (NASA, Hubble, Space Shuttle) makes for the inspiration that brought about the weaving of this Science Fiction illusion. A Wormhole Storm is a Science Fiction (heavy on the fiction) concept of mine partially inspired by the SciFi Channel’s TV show “FARSCAPE.” The concept of a “Wormhole Weapon” intrigued me and already having developed my ruptured wormholes I soon envisioned them turning into massive storms, spawning off multiple shifting wormhole passages raging in space and tearing apart all within their grasp, scattering the matter throughout the regions the passages exits.

An Abstraction of Symmetry & Seclusion
August 17, 2007 on 12:39 am | In Abstract Art | No CommentsIt is a good thing that a person cannot alter space & time with a mere thought. For were it possible, I would take the universe about me, twisting & folding it into an endless shifting maze to confuse those who would wish to seek me out to take advantage of my weakness. I would form a great fan to continuously stir this maze and spit out any undesired who penetrate it, casting them back out into the empty blackness they seek to bring to me.
Seldom do I design and show an art piece that is done from such emotions, that is why so much of my artwork is of simpler themes, but I really like this one! This Abstract will be sold only as an original hand signed (48″ x 30″ Canvas Gallery Wrap Print), no limited or open edition prints will be sold.
And yes, I consider String theory (theoretical physics a simpler theme! Compared to the battles I have to fight in my head to try to be a decent honest person and not leave victims in my path, trying to comprehend such theories is more escape to me than even Stargate SG-1 & Atlantis (my two favorite shows till I could no longer afford cable/satellite. Missed the last few seasons and heard SG-1 ended). This is why I create, the reason I weave strange lovely illusions, to show that there is soul to art created on a computer, for it is nothing more than a modern tool just like a camera, airbrush, various paintbrushes, pencils, markers even charcoal is a tool, used to create a means of expression in the form of a decoration to bring life to his/her own or another’s wall. I do not run batches as the Apophysis freeware I use was designed, the designer’s also took in mind artists like me that would prefer to do the trig and manually weave our illusions. That is where my handle Teknowizard comes from; I am a Weaver of Light & Illusion. AND I INTEND TO BE ONE OF THE MIRACLES THAT DEFIES ALL THE ODDS AGAINST ME AND FINDS A WAY TO OVERCOME MY DISABILITIES AND SUPPORT MYSELF AGAIN SOMEDAY!
This beautiful fine art canvas original will come in a classic Arqadia Traditional Walnut frame which has a gently scooped inner panel with a wide rounded outer edge. The clear walnut finish allows the subtle pattern of the grain to show through. Finished size: 52.8″ x 34.8″

I have not yet decided on a price for this piece - if you would like to make an offer I will give it consideration.
So as to explain the title, the definitions I feel apply to this creation / illusion I have woven.
Abstraction:
1. an abstract or general idea or term.
2. the act of considering something as a general quality or characteristic, apart from concrete realities, specific objects, or actual instances.
3. an impractical idea; something visionary and unrealistic.
4. the act of taking away or separating; withdrawal: The sensation of cold is due to the abstraction of heat from our bodies.
5. secret removal, esp. theft.
6. absent-mindedness; inattention; mental absorption.
7. Fine Arts.
a. the abstract qualities or characteristics of a work of art.
b. a work of art, esp. a nonrepresentational one, stressing formal relationships. (from Dictionary.com)
Symmetry: beauty based on or characterized by such excellence of proportion. (from Dictionary.com)

Out of Frustration Comes Beauty
August 16, 2007 on 11:21 am | In Loose Strings | No CommentsYesterday was a very frustrating day with two of my designs failing to render (one of the problems that comes with having to use freeware software). I debated last night whether to even try to render this piece, which was to be the third in a three matching piece set. I loved the colors so much I decided to take the chance, hoping that it would not fail and waste another 10 hours of rendering time on top of the 13 hours I had lost on the other two failed renders).
It is one of many frustrations for me as I work hard to build something of a life for myself again. With only one computer I have to balance rendering with working on promoting myself and my art & getting new artworks done. My poor computer runs 24/7/365!
There are other things that make it very difficult for me no matter how hard I work! Despite my mental disabilities I am held to the same standard as anyone else. An example is my bank, Guaranty Bank, who fines/penalize me because my account got 67 cents overdrawn and yet when they screw up I am expected to just forgive them no matter how much their mistake may have cost me. Why am I punished for my mistake and they do not hold themselves accountable for their mistakes???
The worst overall is the Internet service I use (a gift from a friend because I cannot afford it). Clearwire advertises it as broadband but because I actually seek to use the paid for bandwidth uploading my art, they throttle down the bandwidth so that essentially, 3/4 of the day it performs at speeds equivalent of a 28.8 modem! In the year I have used their service their CHEATING has cost me 75% of my ability to get the prints uploaded. I literally am behind on Hundreds of artworks and don’t even dare try to upload the nicest ones because the files are so large that Clearwire throttles it down to ZERO, breaking the connection during the upload to my printers server. So often I can’t even offer my nicest ones.
Things like this cause me setback after setback and cost me money that I desperately need for other things, like safety handles so I can shower regularly. Other things like the City of Merced, CA promising me time & again that they would clean up the glass out here in the alley and then never keeping their word! I have not been able to take a single walk in almost a year now because I keep getting glass in my feet and I have almost no feeling in my legs so I don’t know till I see fresh blood on my floor or sheets. If it ever got a major artery, I could literally bleed to death and not know it in time to even call for help.
I am so tired of how our societies really work as compared to how they each represent themselves. For me, life is a living hell and things like these added to the problems my disabilities cause me, just keep robbing me of what little bit I have been able to accomplish. Does not a disabled person like me deserve “Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Happiness” too?
